Great Parks of Hamilton County Comprehensive Master Plan
The Great Parks of Hamilton County Comprehensive Master Plan will pursue Great Parks’ mission to preserve and protect natural resources and provide outdoor recreation and education to enhance the quality of life for present and future generations by defining a clear strategy and decision-making guide for the next ten years. It will set forth a plan of action for facilities, programs and services—all supporting our conservation and preservation efforts—that address the community’s demographic, social and health and wellness needs and will include detailed assessments of current services and facilities.
The process of developing the Great Parks Comprehensive Master Plan will help fulfill our strategic goal of improving lives by connecting people to nature and building relationships with the community and our organization. It will be shaped by a visionary, creative and inclusive planning process that invites all current and potential visitors to Great Parks of Hamilton County to take part in planning for our future.
While pursuing our mission and helping to fulfill our strategic goal, the Master Plan will also be guided by our vision to enrich the region by inspiring nature-based experiences, celebrating cultural heritage and building strong and healthy communities through our dedicated staff, volunteers and friends.
The process to develop the Great Parks Comprehensive Master Plan will take place over the next 18 months (approximate) and is divided into seven phases: 1) Discovery, 2) Community Engagement and Visioning, 3) Data Collection, 4) Data Analysis, 5) Community Engagement and Direction, 6) Draft Master Plan, and 7) Final Master Plan.
